PinMarch 2016 is my third post on blog income earnings. I realized in January 2016 that I really, really need to do something about what I earn from my blogging. You’ll find earlier blog income reports here.
March 2016 has been an exciting month. After trying out several new ad networks and failing to find any very good ones, I decided to join the Blogger Network. I had heard about them from other bloggers and other bloggers’ income reports and people seem very happy with them. So I applied and got accepted quite quickly. Super exciting! I went live with their ads on March 15, so you’ll see half a month’s earnings with them.
What else? Well, I started to research a new web host. My experience last month with Hostgator not wanting to help at all when my website was hacked and also the fact that I have known for a long time that my blog traffic is too high for the shared plan I’m on, I decided it is time to move on!
Now let’s take a look at my blog earnings and traffic this month.
Blog Income March 2016
- Google Adsense – $350.5
- Sovrn Ad Network – $95
- Conversant (former ValueClickMedia) – $55.3
- Amazon – $55.1
- Direct sale of one ad – $80
- The Blogger Network – $997.80
- Other tried networks with no great luck – $20
Grand total – $1,653.7 That’s more than double the amount of the February. Hurray! And thank you, The Blogger Network!!
Blog Expenses March 2016
- Hostgator shared Baby Plan – $10.91 per month (paid semi-annually, but still a cost even though not an expense every month)
- Aweber – $29.99 (Researching new alternatives…)
- Sucuri – $16.66 per month (I paid for a full year immediately, $199, but will only count cost for 1 month. SO. VERY. WORTH. IT.)
Total costs – $57.8
Net Income March 2016 – $1,595.9
This is up 134% compared to last month. Now I do my happy dance!!! :-D:-D
Let’s have a look at traffic numbers and finally RPM for the month.
Blog Traffic March 2016
Here are some screenshots from Google Analytics to show my traffic for March 2016.
Page views were up almost 15% or 43,000 page views to 370 046 compared to February due to a longer month and simply NOT having my website hacked. (Thank you Sucuri! No major changes. Traffic sources are, as usual, mainly Google. I need to start working on my social traffic… Maybe next month!
Now putting all this together and calculating RPM (revenue per 1000 page views)…
Grand RPM is $4.46!!!
February RPM was only $2.30, so this is a massive an improvement! I don’t feel quite as bad anymore. At all. Gosh, how important it is to find the right partners to work with!!
