Novotechnik, U.S. (Southborough, MA) introduces the new WAL 340 hollow shaft angle sensor that provides absolute, rotary position. Sensor dimensions are 32 x 39 mm. A unique notch that is built into the housing aids alignment. Specifically:
- The WAL 340 has a measurement range of 0 to 290°. Mechanical range is a continuous 360° with no stop. It accepts an 8 mm D-Shaped shaft.
- Other key specifications include resolution of < 0.3°, repeatability of 0.3° and independent linearity of ±1% of measurement range.
- As an absolute sensor, the WAL 340 continues to track angle even if power is removed, reporting the correct position when power is restored.
- The WAL 340 sensor has a minimum life of 20 million mechanical movements and is protected from ingress of water and dust to IP 65. Cable and connector versions are available.
