Mom’s question:
How can I cure constipation for 11 month old baby? My son is 11 months old and is experiencing really hard dry bowel movements and extreme constipation.
Now I should mention he eats very healthy as well. He’s on all solids and no longer drinks formula but whole milk. He just saw the doctor and he’s the right weight and size for his age.
What can I do to make him go with some ease and give him more regularity?
Thanks,
Gracie Jackson
Constipation for 11 Month Old Baby – Causes And Treatments
When an 11-month-old baby is suffering from constipation, it is usually due to his or her diet – unless the baby has recently had a stomach bug or other illness that made him or her eat and drink a lot less than usual.
You say that your son is healthy, so the first thing to do is to try to think back on when the constipation started and if you can connect it with any changes in his diet, such as for example the introduction of new foods.
From what you write, one obvious cause of constipation could be the cow’s milk.
A lot of babies and young toddlers become constipated by milk. If you try to cut down on the cow’s milk and at the same time offer a lot of foods that tend to soften the stools, your child’s constipation should disappear.
Foods to Soften your baby’s stools
Apricots, pears, prunes and kiwi are good to soften stools as well as some whole grain bread or oat meal porridge. (Rice cereal, on the other hand, is another common cause of constipation.)
Foods that can cause constipation in babies
Stay away from blueberries, carrots, unripe bananas, toast and dairy products. You’ll find a detailed list of foods that tend to soften or harden a baby’s stools here. Use it as a guide to help mitigate your son’s constipation.

Try to increase their fluid and fiber intake and this should help your toddler. Fruit and fruit juices are an awesome way to accomplish this. Toddlers magic tea is another good option. This is an herbal natural tea with no preservatives.
My friends all told me that Mamil is good for baby constipation prevention as it’s not sweety which is less heaty issit true? But i still prefer my S26 because it’s doing its job well and my DD no constipation prob at all, so i dont think i need to change honestly
it’s true! Mamil is good for baby constipation prevention as it contains zero sucrose which wont brings heaty and it can softer stools so that kids are able to poopoo easily.
Mamil has proven that it works in preventing children constipation. Because Mamil ingredients contain zero sucrose and high level of DHA which good for children. Also, Mamil ingredients can softer stools and increase good bacteria. Mamil formula milk brand brings a lot of benefits! If your child is suffering constipation prob, give it a try and you will get surprised for the result after 7 days.
There are many remedies doesn’t work. I have applied few remedies to my daughter end up I need to sent her to clicnic. That frighten me until now I not even dare to apply any unproven remedies to my kids. Please if your kids having any healt issue, better consult to doctor or some professional person.
Try to give her some prune juice. It can prevent constipation because it works on my kids. Plus, kids should have more food with high fibre and a balanced diet so that kids will keep away from constipation probs.
I would like to say thanks for the forumers who suggested me Mamil formula milk brand. My DD starts relieving after she drank for 10 days. She said that her tummy was feeling better.. Moreover, she was not afraid of going to toilet for poopoo because she can poopoo easily already. She is happier than ever.. Thanks GOD! Haha..
thanks
No fast food and snacks for kids! Bad for their health.
Try on Mamil for 7 days and see how it helps your child’s constipation cos my daughter is drinking Mamil now and does not have constipation problem and most of my frens around facing the same problem with their child too. This is bcos Mamil has very high lvl of DHA and it does not have sucrose, so this can prevent constipation. I also get to knw tat pre-biotic is good to prevent constipation.
I think u can try make ur own fruit juice, not the ones u buy from the departmental stores as those got alot preservatives one. Not good for children! This can help preventing constipation for our LO and also maintaining a good digestive system with fiber! :)
@disqus_646RT7G2Rw:disqus I think u could try giving them prunes, as it’s food for people who are having constipation problem. Or you could switch ur milk powder to those which contains high pre-biotic. Just give it a try, cheers! :)
