A worker died Tuesday at the 3M plant in Alexandria, Minnesota.
The third-shift worker became ensnared in machinery around 3:45 a.m., according to the Star Tribune.
OSHA is currently investigating the accident and trying to determine how he became trapped.
The plant was shut down following the incident, but production resumed Wednesday morning.
The company reached out to the employee's family to offer support and is cooperating with the investigation.
According to the company, emergency protocols were enacted as soon as the accident occurred.
Authorities haven’t released the victim’s name.
The plant makes coated abrasives that are used in metal fabrication, automotive manufacturing and other applications.
