Some companies are made. Others are built. In Los Angeles there’s a manufacturer who embodies all of the qualities it takes to survive, thrive and grow as a U.S. manufacturer. And as a result, what started as a mid-sized steel tubing provider has become one of the largest producers of steel pallet racks in the country.

The Hannibal Industries story offers a collection of best practices for evolving with a changing marketplace and responding to supply chain challenges, but the real takeaway is how this U.S manufacturer has benefited from a foundation reinforced by a commitment to doing things the right way, and a workforce that would settle for nothing less.

While the production of carbon steel tubing at their downtown Los Angeles location goes back a bit further, the entity that’s known as Hannibal Industries was formed in 1985 when long-time employee Chuck Nezzer of Kaiser Steel received some financial backing from Japan-based Mitsui. Shortly thereafter, Hannibal would encounter the first of many changes in an ever-evolving marketplace.
